Wood-burning heaters are sized based on your room's cubic volume plus an extra allowance for any glass, tile, or uninsulated surfaces.

Compared to electric heaters, you have more flexibility, since you can add more wood to generate extra heat if your space runs larger than expected.

What installation requirements should I plan for?

Wood-burning heaters need a proper chimney with correct clearance to combustible materials, and most outdoor installations require a permit. Check local building codes before installing, and confirm the chimney kit's compatibility with your specific heater model.
How much maintenance does a wood-burning heater need?

More than electric, but still manageable. Expect regular ash removal after each use, periodic stone replacement as they break down from heat cycling, and an occasional chimney inspection to keep the draft and airflow working properly.
How long does a wood-burning heater take to heat up?
